Thank you very much!! This is what I’ve been looking for. Your method compared to others is the very simple and efficients. FYI, I use Notepad++ for replacing localhost with my web address. It is easier.

If you setup virtual hosts on your localhost install, couldn’t you avoid having to search and replace [for localhost to yourdomain.com] your db files?

I found this very clear and helpful.
Everything worked well until I tried to go to sub pages, where I got a 404 on every one. I found the answer, I had set Permalinks to use ‘Month and name’ to get neat urls. I simply set Permalinks to ‘Default’, saved changes, then set it back to ‘Month and name’, all fixed.
Hope this helps somebody.

My friend you are the best your article save me a lot of time.

but I had a small problem my phpmyadmin had create links with https and for that reason didn’t work the find and replace

so i change the find to https://localhost/wordpress and
replace with http://www.technokif.gr/wordpress

AND WORKS PERFECTLY and smooth … as you said
